Income tax refund for the a.y. 2008-09

08 July 2013 Dear Experts,

One of my client had filed his income tax returns manually in Bangalore for the A.Y.2008-09 and had a tax refund of Rs.20,000/-. But so far he didn't get any receipt of the tax refund. So at present the issue came to me and he asked me to follow up this case and also presently I've filed his return electronically(In hyderabad)for the A.Y. 2013-14 and presently he is working in Hyderabad since F.Y. 2011-12. My query is whether i can raise any request(online through my client user id) to CPC regarding the refund claim of my client, using the acknowledgement number when the return is filed manually in A.Y. 2008-09. If yes, what is the procedure to be done and if not possible what I've to do then ??? Please help me in this issue and reply as soon as possible.

08 July 2013 You need to first meet the jurisdictional A.O and ask for the status of the refund.

He will surely guide you for the procedure.

08 July 2013 But the return is filed in Bangalore jurisdiction and presently my client is working in Hyderabad and his return is filed in hyderabad only. Will the Jurisdictional A.O of Hyderabad be able to provide the details of refund filed in bangalore ?

08 July 2013 In that case u need to first contact the hyderabad AO and if he is not able to help the u need to meet personally Banglore A.O

2)Login to e-filing website account with user id and password

3)go to my returns and see the status of return (means whether return processed/demand determined/refund determined)

4)try to do refund re-reissue request if cheque not delivered or if any

5)you may call to CPC help line number and can ask for the status of your tax refund
