Income Tax filing -Expatriates

This query is : Resolved

Quick Summary
Expatriates who came to India in April 2019 for internships and had TDS deducted on their salaries may be required to file an income tax return. Even if they leave in April 2020, they could be considered resident but not ordinarily resident for the Assessment Year 2020-21. It's advisable to consult with the Assessing Officer regarding income assessment for April 2020.
