06 September 2011 Sir's and Friends,

Please let me know the criteria of Income Tax Efiling, i am a little confused by the details provided in Income Tax EFiling site,
is efiling mandatory to those who satisfy the conditions given in 44AB (for Individual, HUF, Firms/Aop/Boi) , and is it compulsory for companies (Pvt.Ltd & Ltd.). Please help me

06 September 2011 Now ITR e Filing with digital signature is mandatory for Individual,HUF and Firms also to whom Audit provision u/s 44AB is applicable.Income tax department has issued a notification 37/2011 dated 01.07.2011in this regard. After issuance of Notification Individual /Hindu undivided family assessees (covered under audit section 44AB)have to file ITR-4 and Firms (covered under audit section 44AB) have to file ITR-5 with digital signature.Companies are already directed to file returns through digital signature only.

06 September 2011 ANY ONE CAN e-file their Return but e-filing is compulsory for Individual, HUF, Firms/Aop/BOI (who is covered under section 44AB for audit) and companies with digital signature.
