04 July 2018 A PERSON PROVIDING SERVICE AS A REPORTER TO ONE OF A PRINT MEDIA IN MUMBAI, HE HAS RECEIVED INCOME AFTER TDS U/s 194J,,, MY QUERY IS, CAN HE CLAIM INCOME UNDER SEC 44ADA OR TO BE SHOW UNDER INCOME FROM OTHER SOURCES?

04 July 2018 Journalism is considered as profession you can declare tax u/s 44ADA.

04 July 2018 44ADA is not applicable for 'reporter' since the said profession is not covered
in 44AA(1).

05 July 2018 Income to be declared under 'profits & gains of business or profession'. 44AD is also
not applicable since 'reporter' is not doing an 'eligible business' for opting
presumptive taxation
