25 October 2014 Show it as Interest in OS Sheet. Then claim deduction u/s 80TTA. Deduction available on Saving Bank interest u/s 80TTA is Actual or Rs 10000/- whichever is less. Not to be shown as exempted income. It is not an exempted income you are only getting deduction u/s 80TTA.
