Income received from Donation Box of Temple can be taxable?

If you collected such donation from specific purpose means to construct temple or repairs to temple etc.... then it is not through routed from Income and expenditure account so not Income.
In case it is received for general purpose means purpose of collection not indicated means pilgrims donated at their will generally with out indication of specific utilisation purpose or nature means for example temple maintenance then it routed through income and expenditure so it is income.
So it is depending on the nature and purpose of receipt.
In your case i thinking donation box means HUNDI which is situated at the temple to contribute their donation by the pilgrims generally, if i am correct then your donation nature is general and not specific nature and it is income.
