who is liable to file return of a HUF in case karta has died and no other male adult in family?

When KARTA dies, another co parcerner has to file the return. The IDEA of MALE member being coparcener is DROPPED.

it means his wife eligible to file return being coparcener. can a minor child file this return?

What is your real problem? Forget about coparcener... even you can file the return if the situation is EXCEPTIONAL. You need to get the PAN based approval from the income tax department.
