28 August 2013 One employee has a own house at Navi Mumbai (Thane district)on which Housing Loan is continuing. That house is kept vacant and he stays in that house on week-ends only.

He has taken another house on rent in Mumbai where he stays on working days.

Can he avail benefit of HRA and Interest on self occupied house simultaneously as per IT Act in the current financial year?

28 August 2013 HRA can be claimed for Mumbai house rent. how ever Housing Interest as deemed to be let out can be claimed as showing nominal rent
