How to verify whether assessee has deposited service tax or

24 September 2016 Dear Sir,
Please guide me how can I verify that whether assessee has deposited service tax or not. I have received one job work bill from my vendor with service tax charged @ 12.36% . I have requested him to provide service tax challan but he refuse to give his challan. Kindly guide me how can i verify that he has deposited service tax or not.

24 September 2016 Check whether the invoice is tax invoice indicating the service tax registration number. If it is a tax invoice no need for ask challan.

27 September 2016 Ok Sir, Thanks a lot . Invoice is tax invoice but rate charged is 12.36 % old service tax rate.

27 September 2016 Inform the service provider that present service tax rate is 15% and you are claiming cenvat credit so service tax dept check for your service tax payment. Penalty and interest will be levied for non payment of service tax collected.
