25 June 2013 Pls clarify the following things regarding GTA Service:

i) Whether reverse charge mechanism is applicable on very first rupee paid for services OR Negative list exemption can be taken as RS. 1500 for each bill or Rs. 750 for each consignment for Service Receiver??

25 June 2013 Service tax is not applicable on on Consignment paid upto 1500 & 750 as per MEGA EXEMPTION NOTIFICATION 25/2012.

You need not pay any service tax under reverse Charge also on such payments, however you need to deposit Service Tax on Amount of Frieght paid above the said amount in one consignment @3.09%

26 June 2013 if i am paying my transporter once in 1 month ie., consolidation of all consignments, comes to Rs. 20000 for X Co.,. Then wht ll be the effect??

27 June 2013 Apply the above rule, if Each Bill is for more then 1500/750, then Service Tax Applied, else not applied.
