We had applied for GST registration with rental agreement and later we received the query from department that the rental should compulsorily be registered under sec.17(1)(d) of the Registration Act 1908.

Plz guide me what we have to do ?

27 November 2020 The view of the department is correct.The rent agreement to be enforseable is required to be registered.So you should get this registered.

27 November 2020 thank u sir - But the Only officers from Central Excise are making this registration query where as the officers from sales tax are supporting well to the taxpayers.

27 November 2020 In Rules related to GST registration, it is no where mentioned rent agreement have to be registered. If they reject the registration asking registered rent agreement, you can go in appeal that is only way out.
