I have filed a GST Refund for Export of Services with Payment of Tax and the status is `Bank account validated` since more than 2 months. Can someone tell me the possible reason behind it and any action that I can take to make it proceed further? Thank you

Possible Reasons for Delay Verification by GST Officers After bank validation, the refund claim goes to the jurisdictional GST officer for document verification and scrutiny. This process can take time depending on workload. Pending Document Submission Sometimes, the GST department requires additional documents or clarifications related to your refund claim. If you missed any submission, it can delay processing. High Refund Volume During certain periods, GST authorities face large volumes of refund claims, causing delays. Mismatch or Discrepancies If your refund claim details (like invoices, export documents, etc.) do not fully match with GST returns or E-way bills, the application might be held for manual review. What You Can Do Check for Communications Log in to the GST Portal and check your Dashboard > Services > Refunds > Track Status for any show cause notices or communications. Raise a Grievance Use the “Help & Taxpayer Grievance” feature on the GST Portal to submit a complaint regarding delay. Contact Jurisdictional Officer If you have details of your GST officer, follow up with them to understand if additional documents are required. Verify Bank Details Although “Bank account validated” indicates your bank details are correct, ensure your bank account is active and can receive electronic payments. Wait for Official Processing Refunds can sometimes take 3-6 months or more, especially for export of services, as the department conducts detailed verification. Pro Tip Maintain all export documentation, GST returns, payment challans, and correspondence ready. Prompt submission of any documents requested can speed up processing.
