10 July 2017 A retailer is engaged in retail selling of shirt and pant pieces and also provides tailoring services to its customers. What will be GST applicability? Turnover including tailoring services exceeds 20 lakhs but not more than 75 lacs. Tailoring and selling of goods is done on cash basis and tailoring income constitutes 25% of turnover. Whether it will be included under composite scheme.? Please relpy asap and it was not registered under any other existing acts.

10 July 2017 Dear Sir/Madam,

since you have crossed the threshold limit of Rs.20Lakh in Financial year you are eligible for GST Registration for Supply of Goods ( Shirts and Pants comes under the definition of Goods) and Suply of Services ( Tailoring Services also comes under the definition of service)
The GST Rate Applicable for Ready Made Shirts and pants of value less than Rs.1000/- will attract 5% Gst where as Value above Rs.1000 will attract 12% Gst .
Supply of tailoring service will attract gst rate of 5% if you are stitching clothes for Textile Manufacturing and if making for wearing apparel then 18%.
