Gst on rent if rent is below 10k per month

11 April 2019 Dear Experts,
Being proprietary concern we have taken a godown on rent which is on 9000/- per month pls clarify whether rent of commercial property below 10 thousand is exempt,

11 April 2019 If a registered charitable trust or a religious trust owns and manages a religious place meant for the public, it is exempt from GST if the rent of shops and other spaces for business is Rs 10,000 or less per month

For all other commercial spaces that are on rent, GST will be applicable at 18% on the taxable value

11 April 2019 Mam' I wanna highlight the lines if the rent of shop and other spaces to rent extent 10000 PM is exempt. Hence here question arise whether the godown falls within the ambit of other spaces or not

Pls clarify this issue.. .

11 April 2019 There is no such bifurcation / explanation has been given in Act which differentiates godown from other places
The only condition for exemption is that shop or other places ( godown ) owned and managed by religious place meant for the public .

In my view , the same is applicable on godown also

Also clarify is recipient eligible to avail the ITC thereof since the godown is being used in course of furtherance of supply
