09 December 2017 I am a army contractor and my job is to carry various goods and army personnel from one place to other. For this, I use my own vehicles and also hire vehicles from others. My turnover will be above 5.00 crores during current financial year. And the said job is awarded to me vide tender. Am a liable to pay GST ? If yes, what Percentage

09 December 2017 Goods carried include mostly grocery items like rice, pulses, refined oil, sugar etc. etc. And sometimes, other items like CGI sheets, iron made various defense equipments. Contracts are awarded by Controller of Defense.Accounts (CDA) on behalf of Govt. of India.

09 December 2017 Service of transportation of items mentioned above is exempt from payment of GST. As you are only engaged in supply of service which is exempt from tax thus you are not required to obtain registration.
