Gratuity Payment against Death Case

18 September 2009 Hi Sir,
If a employee died during employment after 1.5 years of service is there there any liability of gratuity which company is bound to pay or if company is willing to pay some amount what should the basis of payment.

04 October 2009 First condition of gratuity liablity, one should complete Continue 5 yrs of service.
If you want to pay,you can pay the on ratio basis for example for 1.5 yr.
(BASIC SALARY*15 DAYS*1.5YR)/26DAYS
