dear all experts
we are registered under gst in punjab & have a branch in delhi
we supply material from punjab to delhi charging Igst.
now our delhi branch is returning material due to quality problem?
Kindly help me how to treat this transaction ??????

Raise tax invoice with IGST for material returned.

ok when delhi branch will issue us a tax invoice with igst , then for delhi branch it is a sale,
but how punjab branch will treat that material ,

It will be purchase of punjab branch.

it means punjab branch will issue credit note to delhi branch

If the sales return by a fresh tax invoice, it is purchase of Punjab.
If the sales return by a debit note, Punjab branch can issue credit note.
If the sales return by a debit note, Punjab branch can issue credit note.

Punjab branch is a manufacturing unit, if delhi branch issue tax invoice instead of debit note then how punjab branch treat the stock means its neither a raw material nor packaging material , please explain this point sir,

You can add it as raw materials if the same can be used again for reprocessing as it is defective material.
