GMCS & Campus Placement

A student writes and clears the CA Final Examination in May 2008 and the training is due to be completed in Jan. 2009. My querries are:-
Earliest by when can the student attend the GMCS programe?
And can the student participate in Aug-Sept 2008 Campus Placement Programme even if the GMCS course is not completed by then?
Please enlighten me on the above issue.

On completion of two years of articleship he can attend GMCS. No he cannot participate till he has the membership number.

GMCS CLASSES CAN BE ATTENDED ONLY AFTER COMPLETION OF 2 YEARS OF ARTICLE TRAINING.

Hello Kapil Sir,
The student shall get the Membership No. only after completion of three years of training (in this case after 17th of Jan, 2009) So if the student clears the exam in May 2008 will he/she not be allowed to participate in the Campus Placement programe of Aug-Sept, 2008?

In my view to get membership of ICAI a student has to clear articleship training, pass the final examination and complete his GMCS course then only he is eligible for membership of the ICAI.

Thanks for the guidance Karal Sir. I'll be glad if you can further guide me whether or not a CA final qualified candidate after completing the GMCS is eligible to take part in Campus Interview?

There is a cut off date of completion of articleship for participation in CP prog.
For March-April CP the cut off date is 30th June i.e. if articleship is getting completed latest by 30th June one can sit in the campus.
For Aug-Sep. campus the cut off date is most probably 31st Dec.
