24 January 2013 I had applied for change in sir name in PAN card,Then I got a letter from them saying that you are required to file Certificate of identity signed by Member of Parliament or Member of Legislative Assembly or Municipal Councillor or a Gazetted Officer in following prescribed format only.https://www.tin-nsdl.com/download/Format-of-Gazette-Certificate_03082012.pdf

I wanna know who will be cover in definition of gazetted officer here??Advocate/Notary can certify or not??

24 January 2013 BDO, Tahsildar, Junior doctors, Assistant Executive Engineer, Lecturers in Government colleges, Headmaster of Government high schools, Doctors in Government hospitals, 2nd Lieutenant to Major, Special Executive Magistrate etc are the Gazetted Officers.
