Form 16 (tds on salaries)

08 May 2012 Whether Form 16 is also required to be issued after downloading from TIN website, since Part A of Form 16 (Details of tax deducted) is available for download from F.Y. 2011-12 onwards.

However, there is no circular from CBDT in this regard yet.

08 May 2012 Wisdom prevails...... Form 16 is meant for ISSUING the same to the concerned. It has never been intended for FILING purpose of the issuer. In fact the forms suggested under Income Tax Rules... form 1, 1A, 2, 3, 4, 49A, 49B..... are all for giving to some one. We need not wait for a separate CBDT circular.

Also you need to just match your 16A figure with 26AS TDS figure.
As you have downloaded through website there is no apparently any mismatch then also cross check the same.

08 May 2012 i think you both have not understood my query, i asked whether Form 16 (TDS on salaries) is also to be issued like Form 16A, i.e. after downloading from TIN website with unique TDS certificate no. or can be issued in old format.
