07 September 2015 Sir/madam,
I had started my articleship on 09.08.2014 and till that date I didn't join any college for graduation. But on Nov. 2014 I had enrolled in a correspondence Bcom course as I was late to get admission in any regular college. Then after passing Bcom 1st year in correspondence I had converted from correspondence to regular BCom as in my university one can convert from correspondence to regular in 2nd year and finally get a regular degree.

BCOM 2nd year reg. date- 29.07.2015

But till date I haven't submitted FORM 112.
Experts please guide me.

25 July 2024 Form 112 is typically required to be submitted by articled assistants who have commenced their articleship on or after 1st May 2012, and who were pursuing a graduation course through a recognized University or Institute, before commencement of articleship. Hereโ€™s how you should proceed based on your situation:

1. **Eligibility Check**: Ensure that you meet the eligibility criteria for submitting Form 112:
- You must have enrolled in a graduation course (B.Com in your case) before starting your articleship.

2. **Submission Timeline**: Form 112 should ideally be submitted within 30 days from the date of commencement of articleship. Since you started your articleship on 09.08.2014, you should have submitted Form 112 by early September 2014.

3. **Late Submission**: If you haven't submitted Form 112 within the prescribed timeline, you will need to apply for condonation of delay. Condonation of delay can be sought from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI).

4. **Condonation Process**:
- Prepare a letter addressing the Secretary of ICAI explaining the reasons for the delay in submitting Form 112.
- Attach any supporting documents that validate your enrollment in the correspondence B.Com course and subsequent conversion to regular B.Com.
- Submit the letter and documents to the concerned Regional Office of ICAI or through the online portal (if applicable).

5. **Outcome**:
- ICAI will review your application for condonation of delay.
- If the reasons provided are valid and satisfactory, ICAI may approve the condonation and allow you to submit Form 112 belatedly.

6. **Professional Assistance**:
- Consider seeking guidance from a fellow member of ICAI or a professional advisor who is familiar with the procedures and requirements for submitting Form 112 and seeking condonation of delay.

Ensure that all the details provided in your application for condonation are accurate and complete. Timely follow-up with ICAI after submission is recommended to track the status of your application.

By taking these steps, you can rectify the delay in submitting Form 112 and ensure compliance with the requirements of ICAI regarding articleship registration.
