Foreign director in an indian company

i want to know that whether is it neccessary to attend the AGM of an indian company by a Foreign director? what are the provisions for appointment of a foreign director in an indian company? what are the relevant sections for study about the foreign directors?

Hi
First of all you take DIN of the foreign person. After getting them , you can appoint him in company by Board or through general Meeting.
Generally the director of the company should attend the AGM, but Companies Act, 1956 does not made mandatory for attending meeting by director.
However,If such foreign director is Chairman of the AGM, then it is mandatory that he should be present in AGM.

11. Declaration on Rs. 10 Stamp Paper
12. Affidavit , if any
13. Current Occupation
14. Qualifications
What are the additional information/ documents required in case of a foreign national?
Details of a valid passport should be filled in form DIN-1 and a certified copy of same should be attached with DIN application. All supporting documents including photograph should be certified by the Indian Embassy or a notary in the home country of the applicant or by the Managing Director / CEO / Company Secretary of the company registered in India, in which applicant is a director.
