17 May 2013 IF WE ARE PAYING TAX AFTER DUE DATE WITH INTEREST U/S 234A,234B,234C AND AFTER THAT WE HAVE FORGOT TO FILE RETURN NEXT 2 MONTHS THEN IS THIS ATTRACT THE INTEREST U/S 234A EVEN TAX WITH INTEREST HAS BEEN DEPOSITED.

17 May 2013 Dear Naveen
Interest u/S 234A wiil be levied commencing on the date immediately following the due date of furnishing the return and ending on the date of furnishing the return.

So,in this case you have to deposit Interest of delayed 2 months under section 234A.

17 May 2013 plz refer CIT v Prannoy Roy 2009 179 Taxman 53 (SC)...if tax deposited before due date of filling return and return filed belatedly..no interest will be chargeable...bt in your case when tax paid after due date of return, so interest will be chargeable for the two months also...

18 May 2013 In the instant case, tax has been paid although no return has been filed. The revenue, therefore, has not suffered any monetary loss.

Supreme court,in Dr. Pranoy Roy's case, has taken the above view and expressed it in the body of the judgement.

N.B:- I have also checked the issue in a reputed private software before framing my 1st observation on this issue.
