06 September 2013 My query is....
There is Partnership Firm which has two partner A and B.The name of firm is "AB & co".This firm has wholesale business in plastic bags.

now Firm(A and B) starts another manufacturing business of vitrified tiles under the name "Yash vitrified & co".

Is they required to obtain another PAN for their Firm of manufacturing business ?

07 September 2013 yes, but in that manufacturing business ,same partner as in trading business it means the firm is same i.e.,A and B .
As the PAN is assesseewise not business wise .So the Firm is same(A and B) still they requires New PAN ?

07 September 2013 please clarify. since the partners are same, why there is different names for each business? and also is there any new partnership deed made for new business?

07 September 2013 yes, there is partnership deed and they starting another line of business i.e.,Manufacturing of vitrified tiles which is different line from trading business of plastic bags.

08 September 2013 PAN can be obtained for one constitution and one person, since your new line of business has different constitution ( partnership deed) and different name, so it will be treated as different person only, so separate PAN is mandatory
