i decided to go self study for Financial reporting. few friends suggested MPV book. but volume looks too big.

Can any share info - what are the chapters in the syllabus?

weightage of chapters?

How abt Institute compilation & MPV book?

How to approach IFRS/GAAP/AS.

03 January 2011 Syllabus of CA is vast which everyone knows.

When a student starts his studies; he thinks that it is almost impossible to cover the whole syllabus in one year.

Avoid thinking only and start your studies. Even a car which can run at 140 speed; has to start with slow speed.

Don't focus on certain chapters only. In CA exams questions are put in unique method which covers various points in single question.

Focus on learning rather than to complete the book.

When you complete a chapter; immediately revise it. It will take only 10 minutes at that time.

Institute's compilations and MPV book is sufficient to have confidence in the subject.
