22 September 2025 I filed the return as representative assessee of my deceased father for FY 2024-25. I have to apply for his tax refund. Where do I have to provide the bank details in his itr to apply for refund?

22 September 2025 To apply for your deceased father's tax refund as the representative assessee for FY 2024-25, you must provide the bank account details of the legal heir (yourself) in the Income Tax portal, not the deceased’s bank account. The refund will be credited only to a bank account in the legal heir’s name, which should be registered and pre-validated on the portal.

Only the bank details of the legal heir should be given at every stage. Refunds are not credited to accounts held by the deceased.

26 September 2025 Good luck...
