Filing of return for ay 2012 2013

31 July 2014 I had filed IT returns for AY 2011 2012 electronically.
But then I had not filed return for AY 2012 2013.

I am salaried employee & have NIL tax liability for AY 2012 2013.Some one told me that I can't file return for AY 2012 2013.

But the Income Tax portal is showing the option to file the return for AY 2012 2013 in Prepare & Submit Online module in e filing.

So what should I do?

31 July 2014 Can I skip filing returns for AY 2012 2013 & straight way file returns for AY 2013 2014 & AY 2014 2015?

31 July 2014 1. it cannot be filed now. You can try to submit, it will be rejected at the time of filing itself

2. you can file AY 2013-14 and AY 2014-15.

3. you can request jurisdictional AO to condone delay in filing and file the return manually

31 July 2014 But as my Income for that AY year 2012 2013 was less than 5 Lakhs & TDS already deducted from salary.
Will it be OK if I don't file my IT Returns for AY 2012 2013.
I had heard that it was not necessary to file IT Returns for AY 2012 2013 if income of Salaried person is less than 5 Lakhs.

02 August 2014 yes. it was not mandatory to file itr in such cases for AY 2012-13
