The Income Tax Act, 1961 requires compulsory audit of the accounts of the Private Limited Companies and hence belated returns of Private Limited companies are allowed with a provision of fine i.e. @0.5% of the gross receipts or Rs. 100000/- whichever is more.You can file belated return with fine as referred above but not for A.Y. 2009-10.
