if any statutory auditor of a pvt. ltd. company has been resigned in 30-08-20014, can a new auditor appointed in his place can audit the balance sheet for the year 2014 tilll the date of agm or not?

Yes Shruti new auditor can do the same.
but resigning auditor require to comply to provisions of new companies act.
