Exemptions onDonations received by Cancer Patient

This query is : Resolved

Quick Summary
This discussion addresses whether donations received for a cancer patient's treatment are eligible for income tax exemption in India. While there's no direct exemption for funds raised via websites like Milaap or directly from well-wishers, Section 80DDB of the Income Tax Act offers some relief for specified medical treatments. Alternative strategies include directing funds straight to the hospital or distributing donations over different years to potentially reduce tax liability.
