i have registered to write both groups in ipcc in this november. but plan to write only 1 group and the other in may next year. will i be eligible to get exemption in group 1 subjects that i score above 60 even if i do not attempt any group 2 papers though i have registered to write it?

Yes, you will be eligible to appear any group as you want to appear. You can give other group in next attempt.
