Dear Experts,
One of our client is engaged in the business of modification of containers as office rooms which can be used at construction sites etc., is he liable to pay any excse duty if yes under what tariff ?

Manufacture means conversion from one product into another. In your case that exists. However the classification under the CET maybe confirmed. If covered excise duty maybe applicable.

It is better to pay service tax on this activity.
