excess service tax paid

30 March 2009 we have paid service tax @ 12.36 % instead of 10.30 % for the month of march.
However we are going to receive payment @ 10.30%.
So my question is whether i can take credit of excess service tax paid in next month.
Please answer.

31 March 2009 There is no provision of self credit.

The service tax excess paid can be adjusted subsequently against your future liability.

The adjustment is restricted to 1 lac.for a quarter / month as applicable.
