23 April 2012 Dear Expert,

we got the excise registration 2-3 months back, now I am going to file the online ER-7 returns but there is an error as "Can not file return for the assesse who registered in assessment year"

so this means it is not applicable to this year, or need to file the manual returns to range office

please suggest.

23 April 2012 You have not given the date of your regitrarion, two three monrhs back means before march 2012. If your total duty payment till march 2012 is below 10 lacks then you are not suppose to file the return. If yes then you can file the return mannualy if the system is not accepting.

24 April 2012 I think there is no clause for ER-7, below 10Lakhs

menationed clause only for ER-4, 5, and 6.

30 April 2012 ER-7 relates to the annual installed capacity. But it has to be filed for the previous year. e.g. return for 2010-11 should be filed by 30-04.2011. As you have got the registration recently so you are not required to file it this year. file it now on or before 30.04.2013 for 2012-13.
