08 December 2011 What is due date for payment of Entry tax in case of Motor vehicles purchased from other state. Whether payment and Return for the entry tax should be made simultaneously or the return can be filed along with the Regular VAT return.

09 December 2011 The due date for making payment of Entry Tax is the due date for filing regular VAT return of the concerned dealer. Yes, payment of tax and return is simultaneous along with the regular VAT return.

17 December 2011 The Motor vehicle is an Electric bike. This type of bikes with a speed of more than 40km/hr are alone required to be Registered under the Motor vehicles Act. For the rest of the bikes there is no requirement of registration. Hence there is a doubt that whether entry tax is exempted for vehicles with speed less than 40km/hr

20 February 2012 Maharashtra Tax on Motor Vehicle is a seperate enactmentnad is not merged with VAT Act.
A vehicle which is not liable for registreation under Motor Vehicle Act is not exigible to tax.
A tax is to be paid, and return is to be submitted under the Maharashtra Tax on entry of motor vehicle, within 15 days from entry of motor vehicle in to the local area or before an application is made for registratiion of vehicle, which ever is earlier.
For above reasons I differ from opinion of Ravindra Shriniwasa, as there is no relation of VAT return, If the matter is related to Maharashtra.
