Effect due to introduce new service for levi of tax

we are taken st registration under head site preparation, clearance etc..in may 2005 and our material used in providing service is also liable for VAT. we discharge our vat liability timely but a new service introduce in June 2006 named - works contract. so, my question is whether this service is applicable for us? and if yes from which date? and what is consequence if now till we file return under site preparation clearance etc.. with nil return and further what effect if we paid service tax for this year i.e. april to september month under site preparation head?

well teh service tax on work contract is applicable from 01-06-2007 on the services porvided after that date
