25 May 2009 ‘NRI ACCOUNTS’are Indian accounts opened for Non Resident Indians. These can, therefore, be opened only Indian branches of Banks in India.

ECB comes into picture when there is remittance from overseas to the receipient account. You may give an example with the purpose stated therein, to understand your query in detail.
