Due date of submission of IT returns

31 March 2010 Sir I wud like to know by what last date I shall submit my IT returns for the year 2008-09 I am an Inndividual Salaried Person. I was supplied Form-16 on 31-7-2009 but the same is misplaced i was told that 31-3-2010 is the last date. I do not have to pay Tax.Plz advice

31 March 2010 You can file ITR by March 31, 2010 without late fee,
Please check interest obligations, if TDS/advance payment is not submitted properly

31 March 2010 The last date for filing return is one year from the end of the assessment year. i.e for PY 2008-09, returns can be filed up to 31.03.2011 but to avoid applicability of clause 271 F i.e penalty, return should be filed up to 31.03.10.

Though never heard of charging of penalty if filed late, but avoid taking chance and file it today by online mode or paper return.
