25 January 2013 whether the due date of service tax is extended or not for 3 rd quater?

28 January 2013 Hi,

Tax period for service tax is HALF YEARLY till now and not QUARTERLY. There was change of system under service tax from 01.07.12 to negative approach, hence department has asked to file return for 01.04.12 to 30.06.12 and for 01.07.12 to 30.09.12 instruction still awaited from the department. Tax period is 01.10.12 to 31.03.13 for next 6 months as of now.
