can anyone please tell me the due date(as extended) for return filing for quarter 1 of year 2012-2013 i.e april 2012 to june 2012
and please tell me the interest payable for late depositing of tax.

The last date of filing the ST 3 return for the quarter Apr-Jun,2012 was extended by CBEC up to 25th November, 2012
The last date of e-filing of Service Tax Return (ST-3) for the period from 1st July 2012 to 30th September 2012, is 15th April, 2013.

The normal rate of interest payable is 18% P.A.for delayed period.

I) Late payment of service tax attracts simple interest @ 18% per annum to be calculated for the number of days delay vide section 75 read along with notification 14/2011 dated march 1, 2011.
2) However, 3% reduction in the rate is allowed vide proviso to section 73B which is reproduced below.
"“Provided that in the case of a service provider, whose value of taxable services provided in a financial year does not exceed sixty lakh rupees during any of the financial years covered by the notice issued under sub-section (3) of section 73A or during the last preceding financial year, as the case may be, such rate of interest shall be reduced by three percent per annum.”
