22 September 2010 I'M FACING PROBLEM WHILE TRYING TO DIGITALLY SIGN THE E-ITR-6 FOR A PRIVATE LIMITED COMPANY FOR THE FIRST TIME. ERROR IS SHOWING "THE DSC MUST BE ISSUED AFTER 01/08/2010" WHEREAS THE VALIDITY OF MY DSC IS UP 01/04/11

22 September 2010 Actually For first return your DSC should be PAN based.
I think your old dsc is not PAN based.

22 September 2010 New amendment if you are filing first time then you must use PAN based digital signature.
if it is your second time when you are filing with digital signature then you can use old.
So your case last year you didn't file return with digital signature (as you told this is first return). So this time you have to use PAN based digital signature. perhaps your old digital signature is not PAN based. You can renew it as PAN based. it will take max one day
