Disposal of Fixed Assets

09 January 2009 We have recd Inter Div. Transfer of various types of F/Assets from Company’s another units which is recently closed. Out of those assets we want to discard some assets from the books but physical existence of those assets will remain at our unit. Since we are not selling them the question of profit & loss does not arise. We are therefore going to simply W/off them on the same value in which we have recd.

Is this treatment is OK according to AS ? Pls suggest.
