Difference beetween self employed and proprietorship

What is the difference between a self employed person or proprietorship concern from the Income Tax view point? In other words is there any income tax benefit enjoyed by a proprietorship business rather than an individual?

As per my opinion both are the same. No separate tax benefit is available to a proprietor concern
