23 February 2011 HOW TO KNOW IN THE QUESTION THAT IS THERE A SURPLUS OR DEFICIENY WHEN THERE IS CHANGE IN METHOD OF DEPRECIATION.

23 February 2011 To know Surplus or defecit, you have to calculate depreciation by applying both method from the purchase of asset,year by year. Then you have to compare both, then you will get the results

23 February 2011 SIR MY MAIN QUERY IS IF A COMPANY IS FOLLOWING SLM OF DEPRECIATION & AFTER 4 YRS IT CHANGED TO WDV.

UNDER SLM DEPRECIATION WAS 1 LAKH FOR 4 YEARS & UNDER WDV METHOD IT WAS 95,000.THEN I WANT TO KNOW IS THERE ANY SURPLUS OR DEFICIENCY.

I AM CONFUSED ABOUT 2 FIGURES.
PLEASE ANSWER IN TERMS THAT IF FORMER IS GREATER THAN LATTER & IF LATTER IS GREATER THAN FORMER WHAT WILL BE THE RESULT.
