21 February 2016 what is the difference between income tax depreciation and company act depreciation

21 February 2016 don't mind. Bu have you already qualified as a CA or you are just using CA in your display name? If the former is the case, then I wonder how you even sailed through 3 years of articleship and CA finals exams without knowing such basic things.

Absolutely we should not. But I stand by the way i comment. If a CA doesn't even know about the basics of depreciation, then I pray for their clients. No wonder so many people are disappointed with their CAs.

I would be more than happy to understand how someone goes through 5 years of CA studies, three levels of exams and 3 years of articleship and have no inkling of the very basic accounts and tax concepts. And if you think it is normal, then it raises concern on whether ICAI has got its examination methodology correct.

22 February 2016 Dear Mr. Nikhil,
As in other profession also, the CA profession has been deteriorated. I think you must heard the name of "Dummy Articleship" where the student need not go to the principal. The learning of practical subject is far. Some Cas have also encouraged to that.
Recently the Hon'ble ITAT has also expressed their dissatisfaction regarding knowledge of a CA.
Though, I do not support but this is call of the day.

well then you know very well where my anguish comes from. but even if we account for dummy articleship, I still wonder why people ask questions about simple issues which they must have covered while preparing for IPCC/CA Finals exams.
