Delay in itr processing

04 April 2019 Why is ITR processing getting delayed this time. We filed income tax returns in October, but we our income tax returns is not processed yet. Few of my clients are having income tax refund. They are calling me every 3 days regarding this income tax refund. Somebody please help. is there any way to push our return or is there any reason for holding the return from getting processed.

04 April 2019 CPC processes the returns according to its own programming and sometimes very quickly. Any delay in processing may be due to the lower tax collection or under achieved tax collection targets. To raise the net collection figures also sometimes the refunds are withheld. There may be any other practical issue also with the relevant returns.
The Government creates confusion in the minds of tax payers by announcing and claiming that refunds will be issued within 2 days of filing of the return, whereas the assessee knows the ground realities.
Still, we have to accept that CPC is a boon for taxpayers. Our AOs are helpless in this regard. In this month, it is hoped that all the pending refunds will be given.
