in andhra pradesh CST number and VAT number is same but i saw some out of state bills in that VAT and CST numbers are different and different format also

please kindly explain is there difference in CST AND VAT numbers in other states

Before last few years ago the sales tax department is allows the separate sales tax no like local and cst.
Now both rc. no is same and called as the TIN no.Ok.

now old delears can use old format number or they have to convert their number in to new format?

28 December 2012 They have to use the new format number only.Now in all states VAT records have been computerised,and in them, only the new TIN no is used.....MJK

I differ with experts in gujarat state there are two different numbers of dealer for vat and Cst even thogh vat department is
computerised
