CRN Transaction is on hold since there is no response from bank

This query is : Resolved

12 July 2023 I have received a message from a client that the "Transaction of Rs.12,610 against CRN xxxxxx is on hold since there is no response from the bank. You cannot initiate another transaction against this CRN for the time being. If the amount is debited from your account kindly check with your bank."
I have raised challan twice and deleted the first challan as the client could not be able to assist in making the payment. The second challan was done successfully. Please guide me what to do as he is asking about this status.

12 July 2023 Whether the payment has been deducted from bank, against the CRN?

12 July 2023 Yes,sir. Payment deducted from bank. That is my major concern.

12 July 2023 So, ignore the massage and as and when the payment gets reflected in system, revise the return for its refund claim.

12 July 2023 The aforesaid tax was self-assessment tax paid at the time of filing the return.

12 July 2023 Yes, as per your statement you paid twice, so you can get back excess as refund.

12 July 2023 No sir, self-assessment tax of Rs.12,610/- was paid only once. Prior to that Rs.2400 was deducted as TDS. Issue arose only with the self-assessment tax of Rs.12,610/- paid on 21st June 2023 through the means of UPI.

12 July 2023 So, get confirmation from bank that the payment has been processed. Fill the details in ITR manually and upload the return.

14 July 2023 I raised a ticket with the SBI that amount was deducted through UPI mode and the payment is not acknowledged by the Income Tax Department. They investigated the ticket and said that the payment was credited to the department on the same date of making the payment. What is the course of action to be taken now?

14 July 2023 If the bank confirms the payment transaction is successful, you enter the challan details in ITR and file it. It will get reflected in the system automatically.... But when? Can't say. Hope it gets credited before processing of the ITR.

14 July 2023 I filed the ITR using online mode and verified the return as well, the client agreed to pay the tax later due to his personal issues. Intimation has been made by the department as Demand notice w.r.t. the Self-Assessment Tax that was paid through UPI mode. And I have discussed this issue above sir. Am I required to insist the client in sending a letter to the Jurisdictional AO citing the payment of tax along with the challan receipt.

14 July 2023 Reply to the demand notice, that the tax has already been paid w.r.t challan no.....
