29 March 2010 Can i manufacturing unit covered by excise get the credit of service tax deposited by it on Freight paid on Sales.Also,in case if it sends goods on consignment can it claim service tax for freight paid by it 4 sending goods to consignee.

30 March 2010 It depends upon the place of removal. If goods are sold from depot, outward freight till depot is available as credit. If the goods are sold at buyer's doorstep, credit is available till buyer's doorstep.
