Cpe hours (its urgent)

13 December 2014 Hello,

COP holder CA's require to complete minimum 20 CPE hours in one calender year.
Does anyone knows that, What could be consequences, if CA was not able to complete 20 hours in year??

13 December 2014 If it is an OLD one....say upto 2012. ICAI looks at it in a soft manner.
For 2013, an extension of 3 months was accorded by ICAI.

13 December 2014 This is my second year of COP.
First year is exempted for CPE hours. So technically it is my first year to complete 20 CPE hours. I have to complete 16 more hours. so, If you know, what are consequences if I completed these remaining CPE hours in next calender year??

Thanks in advance

13 December 2014 To take the RISK at the start of your career is NOT worth.
Lot of courses are going on....complete the same before 31st Dec. All the best.

13 December 2014 COP Holder has to complete 30 hrs per year and 90 hrs in a block of three years.

If not complied
i) name will be hoisted in web site and ICAI will not be responsible for any course of action taken by govt authorities against the member.
ii) name of the member will not be considered for empanelment of govt/bank audits.

P.S:- Shortfall of an year can be made up with in the block by attending double the hours of shortfall.

More details are available in www.cpeicia.org

13 December 2014 Sir B. Chackrapani, Do you mean if, for current calender year I was unable to attend 2 hrs out of 20 hrs, then I have to attend 4 hrs more in next calender year? i.e. 24 hrs in total??

Kindly reply.
